H.E President Kagame addresses the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly
On 21st September 2022, H.E. President Paul Kagame delivered his address at the General Debate of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly. President Kagame talked about regional security, continental and global issues, and mentioned potential partnerships to solve them.
“We cannot anticipate or prevent every crisis. But we can be better prepared to react quickly and effectively, when needed, especially if we work together.” - President Kagame said.
On the Sidelines of the UN General Assembly, President Kagame met with leaders from across the world including the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Barbados, President Emmanuel Macron of France and President Félix Tshisekedi of DR Congo, President Irfaan Ali of Guyana, Prime Minister Juan Antonio Briceño of Belize, African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, President of the European Council Charles Michel, WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, The Administrator of USAID Samantha Power, the Director General of the Global System for Mobile Communications Mats Granryd WHO Ambassador for Global Strategy and Health Financing Raymond Chambers, and David Bonderman, an American billionaire and businessman.
President Kagame also attended several meetings including the Global Food Security Summit convened by President of the European Council CharlesMichel, President Macky Sall of Senegal who is also the Chair of the African Union, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of Spain, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Furthermore, President Kagame took part in the 7th Global Fund Replenishment meeting where Rwanda pledged $3,250,000, a 30 percent increase from the last round.
