President Kagame receives Saudi Arabia Minister of State for African Affairs
On 8 June 2021, President Paul Kagame received the Minister of State for African Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hon. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Kattan who was on a two day official visit to Rwanda.
President Kagame received Hon. Kattan after meeting with Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Vincent Biruta where the two ministers exchanged on strengthening bilateral ties and signed a General Cooperation Agreement.
Rwanda and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed good relations and cooperation in different areas that include trade and investment, health, education, tourism, energy and infrastructure development among others. In 2018, both countries signed the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The Saudi minister’s visit follows the presentation of letters of credence by the new ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Rwanda. Ambassador Jamal M.H Al-Madani presented his letters to President Paul Kagame on 7 June 2021.
