Rwanda, Saudi Arabia sign a General Cooperation Agreement
On 8 June 2021, Rwanda Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Vincent Biruta met with Hon. Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Kattan, Minister of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They discussed bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields. They exchanged on opportunities to enhance economic and investment cooperation.
The two Ministers signed a General Cooperation Agreement between Rwanda and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Following the signature of the General Cooperation Agreement, the bilateral relations and exchanges are expected to flourish.
Rwanda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have enjoyed good cooperation in areas of health, education, energy and infrastructure development. Other areas of shared business opportunities exist in technology, financial sector, tourism development, trade and investment among others.
