On 17 August 2021 in Dubai, H.E Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka had a visit at the Rwanda Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai to witness the pavilion set up progress and also briefed Gulf News about Rwanda's participation and the exciting experience awaiting Rwanda pavilion visitors.
With the theme “Remarkable Rwanda”, Rwanda pavilion will be based in the Opportunity thematic district of Expo 2020 Dubai. In this year’s Expo, Rwanda will share her socio-economic transformation journey, the achievements of its vision 2020, its aspirations for Vision 2050 and all the opportunities that the country offers.
“Rwanda is happy to participate in the World Expo 2020 Dubai, a global event which opens up exceptional opportunities to connect to new markets, new investors, new ideas and new next practices as the world grapples with a reset for recovery given the Covid-19 pandemic. Expo 2020 Dubai visitors can expect a lifetime experience at Rwanda Pavilion which will showcase Rwanda’s uniqueness in the heart of Africa, among top ten fastest growing economies, abundant attractions for all travelers as a high end tourist destination, best in class business environment for innovation and investment, an open, safe and secure country for all,” Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka revealed.
He went on to add, “At Rwanda pavilion, visitors will dive into Rwanda’s history and a remarkable journey of development over the last 27 years since the end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as well as a projection of the ambitious future anchored in the country’s Vision 2050. It will be a fun filled experience with traditional cultural entertainment and dance, Virtual Reality tours that include Gorilla trekking, tech experience into latest innovations and an opportunity to taste Rwandan best quality coffee and tea. I invite all Expo goers to make a stopover at the Rwanda pavilion and enjoy the traditionally warm hospitality of Rwanda while connecting with the country and its people.”
Originally scheduled to start in October 2020, the event was temporarily delayed due to the Global pandemic and rescheduled to run from 1st October 2021 to 31st of March 2022. It is expected to host 25 million visitors from across the world.
