On 11th August 2021, H.E Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Dr Nawal Al Hosny, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The two Permanent Representatives of their respective countries to IRENA discussed ways of deepening Rwanda and UAE bilateral and multilateral collaboration in the areas of mutual interest in the field of sustainability and renewable energy. 

Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka presented to his counterpart Rwanda’s energy mix status, targets and collaboration opportunities and Rwanda’s investment-friendly environment with attractive incentives.

On her part, H.E. Dr Nawal Al-Hosany appreciated Rwanda’s progress and expressed the commitment from her office and the UAE in general to strengthen collaboration. Areas of collaboration include exchange of expertise on renewable energies and alternative cooking technologies among others.
