UAE and Rwanda hold first JCC meeting
07 March 2024 - Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Dr. Vincent Biruta and H.E. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, co-chaired the 1st Session of the Joint Committee for Cooperation (JCC) between Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates.
They explored new avenues for cooperation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Education.
“Through this partnership, we aim to bolster educational exchanges, research collaborations, and capacity building, laying down the foundations for a future where our youth can thrive in a globalized world,” Minister Biruta highlighted in his opening remarks.
The Minister said that bilateral cooperation spans several vital sectors, with notable advancements in trade and investment, security, ICT, and space among others.
On her part, H.E. Al Kaabi underscored the historic ties between the UAE and Rwanda, founded on mutual endeavors across various levels, which reflect the two countries’ readiness to reinforce and develop relations that benefit both nations and their peoples.
Her Excellency added: “The bilateral relations between the UAE and Rwanda have witnessed remarkable progress over the past years, demonstrating the leadership of both countries’ commitment to strengthen these bonds. The UAE and Rwanda are partners in trade and investment, and have expressed their keenness to attract further investments in emerging economic sectors.”
