Background Story
Rwanda and the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoy good relations. Both countries established diplomatic ties on 2nd March 1998.
The current non-resident Ambassador H.E John Mirenge presented his credentials to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on 13th August 2024. This followed the earlier presentation of a copy of his credentials to H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, on February 20, 2024.
Ambassador Mirenge succeeds Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka, who had presented his credentials to His Majesty on July 6, 2021, and concluded his tour of duty in mid-2023.
The two countries look forward to deepening their cooperation across sectors, leveraging each country’s strengths to drive mutual growth and prosperity. Potential areas of collaboration include Trade and Investment, Tourism, Financial services, Energy, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
